What are the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy?

Ectopic pregnancy, also known as ectopic pregnancy, is a common gynecological condition. Its typical symptoms include amenorrhea, abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, and possible syncope and shock symptoms and the appearance of an abdominal mass. If this happens, please seek medical attention immediately.

1. Amenorrhea: Most patients with ectopic pregnancy will experience amenorrhea, which is usually short-term, about 6 to 8 weeks, but some patients may not have obvious amenorrhea.

2. Abdominal pain: In the early stage of ectopic pregnancy, there may be dull pain in the lower abdomen. If the tubal pregnancy ruptures, the patient will suddenly feel severe pain in one side of the lower abdomen, which may be accompanied by a feeling of anal distension. The pain may continue throughout the lower abdomen, and if the blood stimulates the diaphragm, it may also cause radiating pain in the shoulder blade.

3. Vaginal bleeding: Patients with ectopic pregnancy may experience a small amount of irregular vaginal bleeding. Some patients may not have amenorrhea, but only irregular vaginal bleeding, which usually does not exceed the normal menstrual volume.

4. Syncope and shock: When an ectopic pregnancy ruptures and is accompanied by massive intra-abdominal bleeding, the patient may experience syncope and shock symptoms, the severity of which is usually proportional to the speed and amount of bleeding.

5. Abdominal mass: Even if the HCG test result in the blood is positive, but there is no structure of a pregnant embryo in the uterine cavity, a mass may be found in the adnexal area during gynecological examination and B-ultrasound examination.

Treatment of ectopic pregnancy mainly relies on drugs or surgery. Drug treatment is usually chosen in the early stage. Although it is less invasive, it may cause blockage of the fallopian tube. Surgical treatment depends on the cause, including fallopian tube resection, destruction of the corpus luteum of pregnancy and laparoscopic surgery. After surgery, pay attention to avoid excessive fatigue and stress to reduce abdominal pressure and promote wound healing. At the same time, women should pay special attention to protecting the fallopian tubes and keeping the vulva clean to prevent bacterial infection and maintain reproductive health.
