What is the difference between perimenopause and menopause?

During the perimenopause period, due to the decline in estrogen levels, vasomotor disorders and mental disorders may occur, such as hot flashes, sweating, emotional instability, restlessness, depression, irritability, insomnia, etc., which are called menopausal syndrome. In 1994, WHO proposed to abolish the term "menopause" and recommended the use of the term "perimenopause", defining it as the period from the beginning of ovarian function decline to within one year after menopause. Natural menopause refers to menopause caused by the physiological exhaustion of ovarian follicles. Menopause is divided into natural menopause and artificial menopause.

Can I have breast fibroid surgery during menstruation?

If the diameter of a breast fibroid is more than two centimeters, surgical treatment is recommended. After surgical resection, the tumor is routinely sent for pathological examination. Breast fibroid is the most common benign tumor in young and middle-aged women. Its typical symptoms are lumps on the surface of the breast. The lumps are usually clear-cut and well-mobile. There is no obvious adhesion to the surrounding tissues, and there are usually no pain symptoms. They are usually discovered accidentally during a physical examination or a breast B-ultrasound examination. Breast fibroid surgery is generally not recommended during menstruation, because breast fibroids are benign tumors. If surgery is performed during menstruation, on the one hand, it will increase intraoperative bleeding, and on the other hand, it is easy to have blood accumulation in the surgical area after surgery. Therefore, it is not recommended to perform breast fibroid surgery during menstruation. Because breast fibroids are benign, there is no need for emergency treatment. Surgery can be performed after the menstrual period.
