Why is cervical erosion difficult to cure? How should women prevent cervical erosion?

Cervical erosion is a manifestation of other cervicitis. When the epidermis of the cervical os is shed and replaced by another epithelial tissue of the cervical os, the new epithelium covering the surface is thin, and even the blood vessels and red tissue below can be seen. It looks like real erosion, so it is called cervical erosion. Many patients say that cervical erosion is difficult to cure. Why is this? How to prevent cervical erosion? The following will introduce them one by one for your reference.

Why is cervical erosion difficult to cure?

1. Older age

The long-term failure of cervical erosion to heal is also related to the patient's age. Generally, women under 30 years old have a lower recurrence rate after treatment of cervical erosion, while women over 30 years old have a higher recurrence rate.

2. Suffering from sexually transmitted diseases

If the patient has gonorrhea, genital chlamydia infection, genital warts, etc., these pathogens can invade the cervical epithelial cells, causing cervical inflammation, and then lead to cervical erosion.

3. Frequent sex

After a period of treatment, the symptoms of patients with cervical erosion will improve. However, if they have sexual intercourse too frequently during this period, bacteria may enter the vagina, inducing infection again, aggravating damage to the cervical epithelium and causing recurrence of cervical erosion after treatment.

4. Incomplete treatment of cervical erosion

Nowadays, cervical erosion is mostly treated with physical treatments such as laser, electric perm or microwave. In order to avoid damaging other tissues, the force used in the operation is generally light, and the treatment range is limited and relatively superficial. The diseased tissue at the erosion site cannot be completely destroyed, resulting in residual diseased tissue, which can cause recurrent attacks.

5. Severe lesions

The larger the area of cervical erosion, the more likely the patient's condition will recur, and the higher the recurrence rate after treatment. Generally, mild to moderate cervical erosion has a high cure rate, and the condition can be well controlled; while women with severe cervical erosion have a low cure rate, but the recurrence rate increases accordingly. This shows the importance of early detection and treatment for the complete cure of the disease.

How to prevent cervical erosion?

Cervical erosion can cause contact bleeding or irregular vaginal bleeding. When the inflammation spreads to the pelvic cavity, there may be back pain, sacral pain, abdominal pain and dysmenorrhea, which worsens during menstruation, defecation or sexual intercourse. Viscous and purulent leucorrhea is not conducive to the passage of sperm, which can cause infertility and seriously affect women's physical and mental health. Therefore, more prevention is needed, and the prevention methods are as follows:

1. Actively treat cervical erosion if it is found. It can be treated by vaginal medication, laser, electric ironing and freezing.

2. Take good care of contraception and birth control. Avoid the pain and trauma of abortion and curettage. Cervical lacerations caused by childbirth should be sutured in time.

3. Keep the vulva clean. If there is no infection, do not use various flushing liquids to avoid damaging the natural protective barrier of the vagina, which will only make it more annoying the more you wash.

4. Regular gynecological examinations. Cervical erosion and early cervical cancer are difficult to distinguish with the naked eye. Cervical smear examination is a simple, easy and reliable method.

5. Keep a happy spirit and enhance disease resistance. Cervical erosion is a chronic disease. Although it is a risk factor for cervical cancer, it is not a precancerous lesion and there is no need to worry about it.

In addition, it is reminded that if the male reproductive system is not thoroughly cleaned, it is easy to bring bacteria into the female body, thereby harming the female. Once the male brings bacteria in, it is easy to cause the female to become ill. Therefore, the husband must cooperate well with the woman during the treatment.
