Today we will discuss with you the treatment of cervicitis. Perhaps many female friends have suffered from or have been in contact with friends suffering from cervicitis. Their understanding of it is limited to privacy such as possible hygiene infection or excessive sexual life. Their understanding of its pathology and treatment is still relatively vague. The following focuses on one of the physical therapies, microwave therapy, for your reference. Cervicitis is the most common gynecological disease. It is often caused by childbirth, abortion, surgical damage to the cervix, or foreign bodies in the vagina that allow pathogens to invade and cause infection. The main symptoms are increased vaginal discharge, bloody leucorrhea or bleeding after sexual intercourse when polyps are formed. Gynecological examinations show varying degrees of cervical erosion and hypertrophy, sometimes with a hard texture, or polyps, lacerations, eversions, and cervical gland cysts. Microwave is a high-frequency electric wave with a wavelength of 1mm-1m and a frequency of 300-300000MHz, which is between ultrashort wave and infrared. Large doses of microwave are high-temperature heat burns, which can cause tissue denaturation, carbonization, and necrosis, thereby destroying the diseased tissue. It is used for cervical erosion, cervical polyps, cervical condyloma acuminatum, etc., and also has a certain plastic effect on old ruptured cervix. It is usually performed within 2-3 days after the menstruation ends, and the wound heals in 4-8 weeks. There may be a small amount of bleeding when the scab falls off 1-2 weeks after treatment. The vulva should be kept clean, and sexual intercourse and tub bathing should be avoided for 1-2 months. Cervicitis is mainly treated with local physical therapy, and the microwave mentioned above is one of them. The principle of physical therapy is to destroy the epithelium of cervical lesions through physical therapy devices such as laser, electrocautery, and microwave, causing it to necrotize and fall off, and then the new squamous epithelium will re-cover the lesioned area, making the cervix smooth. In the past, the commonly used method was electrocautery. In recent years, new instruments have been continuously introduced. The microwave therapy newly introduced by our department is an ideal advanced treatment device for cervicitis. The above-mentioned use of relevant instruments to emit microwaves and use the physical properties of microwaves to kill bacteria is currently one of the more common methods for treating cervicitis. Of course, we need to note that this method is generally more suitable for benign lesions, while other treatment methods need to be adopted for some malignant or potential cancer cells. |
