What are uterine fibroids? How to treat uterine fibroids

Uterine fibroids are common tumors of the female genitalia. Female patients do not have obvious early symptoms, so it is difficult for many women to find out that they are sick in the early stages. Let's take a look at what uterine fibroids are. Why do we get uterine fibroids?

What are uterine fibroids?

There are four most common types of uterine fibroids:

Submucosal fibroids

Intramural fibroids grow in the uterine cavity, protrude from the cavity, and directly contact the mucosal layer, accounting for about 10%-15%. This tumor can gradually enlarge and deform the uterine cavity, and the pedicle is often connected to the uterus. For example, a long pedicle can block the cervix or detach from the vagina.

2. Intramural fibroids

The most common type of fibroid is located within the muscle wall and is surrounded by muscle layer, accounting for about 60% to 70%.

3. Cervical fibroids

Cervical fibroids grow less frequently, but because they grow in a lower location, they can embed into the pelvic cavity, causing compression symptoms, making surgical removal difficult and easily damaging the ureter and bladder.

4. Subserosal fibroids

Intramural fibroids develop into serosa, protrude from the surface of the uterus, and directly contact the serosa layer, accounting for about 20%. If they grow between the two leaves of the broad ligament, they are intra-ligament fibroids.

Differences in disease populations

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors of the female reproductive system, common in women aged 30 to 50, and less common in women under 20.

Multiparous women often have enlarged uterus, and those who have been ill for a long time and have heavy bleeding are often anemic.

Differences in clinical manifestations

Uterine fibroids: Most patients are asymptomatic, while a few may experience vaginal bleeding, abdominal masses, and compression symptoms. The sizes of fibroids vary greatly, ranging from as large as tens of kilograms to as small as dozens or hundreds of fibroids appearing at the same time.

Uterine hypertrophy: The typical clinical manifestation is increased vaginal discharge, mild and without systemic symptoms. When the inflammation spreads along the uterosacral ligament to the pelvic cavity, symptoms such as lumbar pain, lower abdominal swelling, and dysmenorrhea may occur, which are aggravated with each bowel movement and sexual intercourse. Compared with uterine fibroids, the uterus is uniformly enlarged, and the gestational uterus is less than 2 months.

Uterine fibroids are uterine fibroids?

According to experts, uterine fibroids have the following main causes. Once uterine fibroids are found, attention should be paid to early detection and early treatment to get rid of the troubles of uterine fibroids.

【Sexual dysfunction】

Long-term sexual dysfunction can easily cause hormone secretion disorders, leading to chronic pelvic congestion and inducing uterine fibroids.

【Bad eating habits】

For many women who are partial to meat, picky eaters, and prefer meat, uterine fibroids are also a big chance. Therefore, women should have a balanced diet and avoid excessive intake of hormone-containing foods.

【Multiple abortions】

Many women do not pay attention to contraception, which leads to pregnancy. Multiple abortions continuously stimulate the uterus, leading to the formation of uterine fibroids. For women who took contraceptives in the early stage, the chance of uterine fibroids is relatively high. It is recommended that female friends use reasonable contraception.

Increased estrogen secretion

With the increase in estrogen secretion and the arrival of menopause, middle-aged women begin to experience the "estrogen control period". During this period, due to the dual pressure of family and work, women are more likely to be depressed, which promotes the increase of estrogen secretion. These are all important causes of uterine fibroids.
