How to have a medical abortion? It’s divided into these 4 steps

Before medical abortion, relevant examinations are required. Only when the indications for medical abortion are met can mifepristone and misoprostol be used for abortion. The entire abortion process takes three days, and attention should be paid to monitoring during the abortion process. Color Doppler ultrasound should be rechecked 7 days after the abortion, and attention should be paid to rest, supplement nutrition, and promote physical recovery.

Because taking medicine to induce abortion is very convenient, some women will choose this method of abortion after an unexpected pregnancy. However, there are strict indications for medical abortion. This method of abortion can only be chosen when the pregnancy is intrauterine within 49 days of pregnancy and the diameter of the gestational sac does not exceed two centimeters. So how to induce abortion with medicine?
1. Check before medical abortion
Because medical abortion has strict indications, color Doppler ultrasound examination must be done before medical abortion to see the size of the gestational sac in the uterine cavity. Generally, medical abortion can be chosen when the gestational sac is about 1.5 cm. If the gestational sac is too small, it will be insensitive to the drug and cause abortion failure. If the gestational sac is too large, taking the drug may cause too much bleeding, which is too harmful to women's health. In addition to gynecological color Doppler ultrasound examination, multiple tests such as electrocardiogram, blood and urine routine, and leucorrhea routine are also required. Only when the results are normal can medical abortion be chosen.
2. The process of medical abortion
When taking medical abortion, you need to take two drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol. The whole process takes three days. Take two mifepristone pills every morning for the first two days and one mifepristone pill at night. It can soften the cervix and make the uterine decidua deform and necrotize. Stop taking mifepristone on the third day and take three misoprostol pills at a time to promote uterine contraction and excitement. The gestational sac will be discharged within about 6 hours.
3. Monitoring of the abortion process During the abortion process, it is important to regularly check the woman's blood pressure and pulse, and record whether the fetal sac is expelled and the time of expulsion. If there is active bleeding after the fetal sac is expelled, uterotonics or curettage can be used to stop the bleeding.
4. Care after medical abortion
1. Recheck with color ultrasound
When medical abortion is adopted, you need to go to the hospital for a B-ultrasound recheck 7 days after the abortion to see whether the gestational sac is completely expelled. If there is any residue, uterine curettage is required.
2. Pay attention to rest
After medical abortion, you should pay attention to rest more. It is best to rest in bed for two or three days, and then slowly get out of bed to do moderate activities. If your body recovers well, you can return to work after two weeks, but you cannot engage in heavy physical labor.
3. Nutritional supplement
Medical abortion can cause great harm to the body, so after having an abortion, you should also pay attention to proper nutritional supplementation, eat more eggs, milk, meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, etc., to improve the body's disease resistance and promote the body's recovery as soon as possible.
