The normal value of prolactin during pregnancy is a reference value for clinically testing women's breast development and lactation during pregnancy. The reference range of normal prolactin during pregnancy is: <80μg/L in the first 3 months of pregnancy; <160μg/L in the second 3 months of pregnancy; <400μg/L in the last 3 months of pregnancy (double antibody radioimmunoassay). Prolactin is a polypeptide hormone, also called prolactin (PRL), which is one of the hormones secreted by the pituitary gland. Women secrete prolactin vigorously in the late pregnancy and lactation period to promote breast development and lactation. Increased prolactin is common in pituitary tumors, hypothalamic lesions, primary hypothyroidism, bronchial cancer, gastric cancer, renal failure, craniopharyngioma, mental illness, polycystic ovary, drugs (such as antihypertensive drugs, diazepam, contraceptives, tranquilizers, etc.); it can also increase in pregnant and lactating women. Decreased prolactin is common in anterior pituitary hypofunction, single prolactin secretion deficiency, after oophorectomy, kidney cancer, etc. There are some things to keep in mind when checking prolactin during pregnancy: 1. Do not eat greasy or high-protein food and avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol the day before blood collection. The alcohol content in the blood will directly affect the test results. 2. You need to be on an empty stomach before blood collection and do not eat after 8 pm the day before blood collection to avoid affecting the detection of indicators on the next day. 3. You should relax when having blood drawn to avoid blood vessel contraction due to fear, which will increase the difficulty of blood collection. |
