What is dysfunctional uterine bleeding and what are its symptoms?

Dysfunctional uterine bleeding is actually abnormal uterine bleeding caused by reproductive system disorders. Although it is uterine bleeding, there is no organic lesion, and the disease can be divided into ovulatory and anovulatory. If it occurs during adolescence and menopausal transition, it is mostly anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

Many women have various problems with their uterus, which is very harmful to reproductive health. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding is a very common condition. Although many people have heard of this disease, they don’t know much about it. Let’s take a look at what dysfunctional uterine bleeding is.
1. What is dysfunctional uterine bleeding? This disease is actually dysfunctional uterine bleeding, which is an abnormal uterine bleeding caused by disorders of the reproductive endocrine system. A woman's menstrual cycle should normally be 21 to 35 days, each menstruation lasts 2 to 7 days, and the average menstrual volume is 20 ml to 60 ml. If it does not meet these standards, it is abnormal uterine bleeding, which can also be called dysfunctional uterine bleeding. At this time, there is usually no organic lesion of the uterus, and it is divided into ovulatory and anovulatory. If it is during adolescence and menopausal transition, most of them are anovulatory.
Causes of Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding
1. Luteal insufficiency
If there is a problem of luteal insufficiency, the endometrium will have poor secretion, which will cause the disease. In addition, premature luteal decline can also easily induce the disease.
2. Incomplete shedding of the endometrium
If this happens, the secretion of estrogen will be abnormal and may remain at a relatively high level. If the estrogen level cannot be lowered, the endometrium will shed irregularly, which will induce the disease.
Symptoms of dysfunctional uterine bleeding
1. Irregular vaginal bleeding
Normal women will have vaginal bleeding during menstruation. If bleeding does not occur during menstruation, it is mostly irregular bleeding, and this disease will cause this situation. The main manifestation is early or late menstruation, with no regularity at all.
2. Frequent menstruation
This disease may also cause frequent menstruation, such as a significant shortening of the menstrual cycle, but the amount of bleeding and the number of days it lasts at this time may be within the normal range.
3. Excessive menstrual flow
Excessive menstrual flow is also one of the common manifestations of the disease, which mainly refers to the total amount of menstruation exceeding 80 ml. In severe cases, anemia may occur.
