What are the post-abortion care methods?

Many women do not pay attention to contraception during sexual life and often get pregnant. Then abortion will bring great harm to women's health. During abortion surgery, scientific care must also be carried out to avoid sequelae for women. So what are the care methods after abortion?

1. Observe for 1-2 hours after the operation, and pay attention to bleeding and lower abdominal pain. Pay attention to rest after discharge, strengthen nutrition, and stay in bed after abortion; within 3 days, gradually increase activity time to reduce the occurrence of intrauterine blood accumulation. Do not engage in heavy physical labor and cold water operations within half a month after abortion to avoid cold; pay attention to increasing nutrition, eat more protein-rich foods, such as fish, meat, eggs, soy products and fresh vegetables rich in vitamins, to promote early repair of damaged endometrium.

2. Keep the vulva clean . Do not have sexual intercourse or bathe within one month. After abortion, the cervix is not completely closed and the endometrium is also undergoing repair. During this period, special attention should be paid to keeping the vulva clean and hygienic. The sanitary napkins and underwear used should be washed and replaced frequently.

3. Observe the bleeding. If vaginal bleeding lasts for more than one week after abortion, or is accompanied by lower abdominal pain, fever, turbid leucorrhea, and other abnormal conditions, you should go to the hospital for treatment in time.

4. Adhere to contraception. After abortion, the functions of the ovaries and uterus gradually recover, and the ovaries ovulate on time. If we do not adhere to contraception, we will soon become pregnant again. Therefore, reliable contraceptive measures should be selected as soon as possible after abortion. The World Health Organization clearly pointed out that taking contraceptive measures immediately after abortion is of great significance to reducing the rate of recurrent abortion and reducing postoperative complications. It is recommended that an intrauterine device and oral short-acting contraceptives should be placed at the same time after abortion.

Post-abortion standardized service is a standardized service process, including five aspects: medical services for abortion complications, post-abortion family planning services, post-abortion consultation services, post-abortion community services, and post-abortion reproductive health comprehensive services. It greatly helps to reduce the rate of repeated abortions and improve women's reproductive health. Warm reminder: Women must be observed for 2-3 days after abortion, and stay in bed and have less activity. In addition, they should keep their vulva clean. During this process, they should not take a bath to avoid infection.
