What causes dysmenorrhea? How can I relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea?

Dysmenorrhea can make many women feel very painful for a few days every month. Some people drink brown sugar ginger water to relieve pain. In fact, brown sugar water can only relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea and cannot achieve the purpose of treatment. Let's first understand the causes of dysmenorrhea.

1. The occurrence of primary dysmenorrhea is mainly related to the increase of endometrial prostaglandin content during menstruation. Increased PGF2alpha content is the main cause of dysmenorrhea. High PGF2alpha content can cause excessive contraction of uterine smooth muscle, vascular spasm, leading to uterine ischemia, hypoxia and dysmenorrhea.

2. Increase vasopressin, endogenous oxytocin and endorphins.

3. Psychological and neurological factors.

4. Secondary pain is often caused by endometriosis.

Dysmenorrhea is a common symptom in women. For unmarried women, dysmenorrhea will disappear naturally with age, especially after marriage and childbirth, and no treatment is needed. However, if dysmenorrhea lasts for more than 3 days, people whose lives are affected should actively seek treatment. The treatment of primary dysmenorrhea mainly focuses on analgesia and sedation.

1. General treatment: (1) Emphasis on psychological treatment to eliminate tension and worry.

(2) Get enough sleep, exercise regularly and moderately, and quit smoking.

(3) When the pain is unbearable, supplement with medication.

2. Drug treatment:

(1) For dysmenorrhea caused by adenomyosis in women who do not desire to have children, the Mirena IUD is the first choice.

(2) Oral contraceptives: Suitable for women with dysmenorrhea who need contraception, with an effectiveness rate of over 90%.

Over-the-counter medications: acetaminophen, acetaminophen plus pamabrom, vinyl salicylate (aspirin).

Women with severe dysmenorrhea should actively and correctly check and treat gynecological diseases. They should try to avoid gynecological examinations and various surgeries during menstruation to prevent bacterial infection. If you have gynecological diseases, you should also actively seek treatment to eliminate the hidden dangers that cause dysmenorrhea.
