What is the best treatment for mild cervicitis?

What is the best treatment for mild cervicitis? As we all know, the golden treatment period for diseases is the early stage, but many people in life do not realize the importance of this and often neglect the treatment of the disease in the early stage, which leads to serious disease progression and increased difficulty in treatment. Cervicitis is a common gynecological disease. So, what is the best treatment for mild cervicitis?

Mild cervicitis means that the inflamed surface of the cervix occupies less than 1/3 of the entire cervical surface. When suffering from mild cervicitis, patients generally have no obvious symptoms, and may only have a slight increase in vaginal discharge, which is often easily ignored. Many patients' cervicitis is discovered during a general examination or when they visit a doctor for other gynecological diseases. The best way to treat mild cervicitis is to use medication combined with physical therapy.

Local medication: Local vaginal lavage and local medication. Generally, lavage can be done with 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution, 1:1000 chlorhexidine solution, 1% acetic acid solution or 0.5-1% lactic acid solution. For mild inflammation, use a cotton swab dipped in 5-10% iodine tincture or 5-10% silver nitrate solution to corrode the erosion surface locally, once a week, which can promote the healing of the erosion surface. After applying silver nitrate, gently wipe with a cotton ball dipped in physiological saline.

Physical therapy: The principle of treatment is to use various physical methods to make the eroded surface necrotic and fall off, and then covered with new squamous epithelium.

Experts point out that patients with mild cervicitis need to take good care during treatment to prevent infection. Special attention should be paid to the following: within three days after treatment, there will be some yellow watery or bloody secretions in the vagina. Therefore, cotton sanitary pads can be used during the day and new pads should be replaced frequently. The vulva can also be cleaned with warm water once in the morning and evening.

Patients should strictly refrain from sexual intercourse during treatment, and generally refrain from sexual intercourse for 1-3 months after treatment, because after treatment, a layer of inflamed scabs will fall off on the surface of the cervix, and new tissue will slowly grow out. During the tissue repair process, sexual intercourse will cause the new wound surface of the cervix to wear and even bleed, affecting the efficacy. Women should pay special attention to the hygiene of the vulva, and it is best to wear cotton underwear and change and wash it frequently to keep the vulva clean.
