What are the causes of endometrial tuberculosis infection?

Endometrial tuberculosis is mostly caused by infection, and in rare cases it is caused by other factors. We focus on two aspects: one is caused by disease, such as long-term incurable vaginal tuberculosis. The other is a hygiene problem, such as hygiene infection during menstruation. Below is a summary of the specific causes of endometrial tuberculosis:

【1】Intrauterine placenta retention and incomplete uterine involution during the postpartum period often lead to endometrial tuberculosis. Surgical operations, such as placement of intrauterine devices and artificial abortion and curettage, can introduce contamination sources and cause endometrial infection.

【2】Uterine diseases, such as endometrial polyps, submucosal uterine fibroids, and endometrial cancer, may also lead to endometrial tuberculosis. Having sex too early after childbirth or during menstruation can allow pathogenic bacteria to reach the endometrium through the vagina, causing tuberculosis.

[3] Lack of personal hygiene, sexual intercourse during menstruation, and sexual intercourse with people of the opposite sex with sexually transmitted diseases can also easily lead to this disease. Elderly women are prone to senile vaginal tuberculosis due to decreased estrogen levels, decreased vaginal acidity, and reduced cervical mucus plugs, which can further develop into endometrial tuberculosis.

Endometrial tuberculosis can also cause female infertility, but clinical cases are relatively rare, and endometriosis is the most common cause of infertility. The treatment of endometrial tuberculosis is relatively simple. Generally speaking, as long as the correct and scientific treatment methods are adopted, it can be cured. It is recommended not to take antibiotics casually, as they cannot cure endometrial tuberculosis.
