How Bacterial Vaginosis is Spread

How Bacterial Vaginosis is Spread

Bacterial vaginosis is a stubborn disease that is prone to recurrence and can be spread through sexual intercourse, causing cross-fertilization among couples. Doctors remind friends that bacterial vaginitis can easily cause infertility problems, so it is important to prevent and treat bacterial vaginosis. Understanding the transmission pathways of bacterial vaginosis is helpful in preventing bacterial vaginosis. Below, we will specifically understand the four major transmission pathways of bacterial vaginosis.

1. Indirect contact infection is a transmission route for bacterial vaginitis. Contact with toilets, bathtubs, bath seats, towels in shared toilets infected by bacterial patients, and using unclean toilet paper can cause transmission.

2. Excessive attention to hygiene: It is sufficient to use feminine care liquid on a daily basis, but some women often use medicinal washes to irrigate the vagina in order to maintain hygiene. This can easily destroy the acid-base environment of the vagina and make it easier to get bacterial vaginosis.

3. Bacterial vaginosis is also caused by taking a large amount of antibiotics. Taking antibiotics changes the vaginal microenvironment, and pathogenic bacteria may multiply, eventually leading to local bacterial vaginosis.

4. Sexual transmission is also one of the ways of bacterial vaginosis transmission. At least 10% of men with symptoms on the female side have bacterial urethritis and should be given reasonable treatment at the same time to prevent cross infection.
