Common treatments for endometriosis

I believe that many women have gynecological diseases such as dysmenorrhea and irregular menstruation. When the disease is not serious, they never take it seriously. However, when it becomes serious, they are diagnosed with endometriosis. Due to women's neglect of the disease, the disease becomes more and more serious, so treatment is very important. Here are two methods for treating endometriosis.

1. Conservative treatment

Pseudo-pregnancy or pseudo-menopause therapy is often used, such as danazol and tamoxifen, nemetol, and provera, which artificially cause the cessation of menstruation to form a pseudo-pregnancy state. Without menstruation, there will be no dysmenorrhea, but this type of drug has great side effects and can cause certain damage to the liver and kidneys. Some patients have to stop taking the drug when the disease has not yet been cured due to side effects. After stopping the drug, menstruation will still occur and the disease will generally continue to develop.

2. Surgical treatment

(1) Radical surgery: This involves the complete removal of both ovaries and uterus. This is extremely cruel to young and childless women. The complications and sequelae caused by this surgery will cause certain physical and mental pain to the patient, and menopausal syndrome will occur after the surgery.

(2) Conservative surgery: local excision, peeling, and removal of the lesion. However, due to the heavy adhesion of the disease, the surgery is often incomplete. For example, after electrocautery of ectopic lesions that have been dislocated to the sacral ligament or invaded the rectum, the recurrence rate is high. Laparoscopy is both a diagnostic method and a treatment method, but there is a high chance of recurrence after surgery. Currently, Western medicine makes it easier to diagnose the disease, but it is also difficult to treat.

Endometriosis causes many women to suffer. In addition to menstrual pain and irregular menstruation, severe cases also cause infertility, and more importantly, mental torture. Therefore, early detection and early treatment will reduce the harm to women. We do not advocate that women delay treatment of the disease. Delaying treatment will not cure the disease and will only make it worse.
