How to check for multiple ovarian cysts

How to check for multiple ovarian cysts? Ovarian cysts are a type of ovarian tumor in a broad sense. They can occur at any age, but are most common in women aged 20 to 50. Ovarian tumors are common tumors of the female genitalia, with various properties and forms, namely: single or mixed, unilateral or bilateral, cystic or solid, benign or malignant. Among them, cystic is more common, and the degree of malignant change is very high. How to check for ovarian cysts? What are the methods?

1. Imaging examination:

B-ultrasound: the simplest and most convenient diagnostic method.

Abdominal plain film: Ovarian teratoma can show bones and teeth, the cyst wall is a calcified layer with increased density, and the cyst cavity is a radiolucent shadow.

CT, MRI, PET-CT: can clearly display the mass, locate and characterize it. Benign tumors are mostly absorbed evenly, with thin and smooth cyst walls. Malignant tumors have irregular contours, infiltrate the surrounding areas or are accompanied by ascites. It can also be used to determine whether there is metastasis to the liver, lungs and retroperitoneal lymph nodes.

Pelvic lymph node imaging can determine whether ovarian tumors have lymph node metastasis.

2. Tumor markers: Currently, there is no tumor marker that is specific to a particular tumor. Each type of tumor may have relatively specific markers that can be used for differential diagnosis and disease monitoring.

3. Cytological examination: Vaginal exfoliative cytological smears have a low positive rate for finding cancer cells and are of little significance. Finding cancer cells in ascites or peritoneal washings is meaningful for further staging and treatment of patients with stage I ovarian cancer. Pleural effusions should be examined for clinical metastasis by cytological examination.

4. In recent years, research on early diagnosis technology of ovarian cancer has made continuous progress, especially in mass spectrometry analysis technology, biochips, genetic diagnosis and immunology.
