Can women with ectopic pregnancy be cured?

Ectopic pregnancy is preventable. To prevent the harm of ectopic pregnancy, we have the following specific preventive measures: First, we need to do a good pre-pregnancy check-up. Secondly, we need to choose a reliable contraceptive method and use it correctly. Finally, for patients with a history of pelvic inflammatory disease surgery, they need to listen to the doctor's advice before pregnancy and can choose to do hysteriodized oil contrast, so as to understand the status of the fallopian tube.

"In the past, people only had laparotomy to treat ectopic pregnancy. Now medicine has made great progress and there are three main treatment methods," said a gynecologist. Before rupture, the embryo of an ectopic pregnancy has not yet fully developed, so conservative treatment can be used, that is, intramuscular injection of methotrexate to terminate the pregnancy. However, this treatment does not achieve the desired effect 100%, but about 1/3 of patients can avoid surgery.

If medication doesn't work, surgery is needed. In the past, laparotomy was the only option. In recent years, with the development of minimally invasive technology, laparoscopic surgery has gradually become the dominant option. In developed countries and large domestic hospitals with high technical levels, laparotomy is almost unheard of. It is reported that O'Rourke's laparoscopic surgery can handle all laparotomy operations and has the advantages of less trauma, faster recovery, and timely rescue.

Only in extremely special circumstances, such as when patients with ectopic pregnancy cannot tolerate laparoscopic general anesthesia, will laparotomy be chosen for treatment.
