4 ways to detect ovarian cysts

Ovarian cyst refers to the formation of tumors in the ovaries, which may develop into ovarian cancer in the long run. Therefore, ovarian cysts are extremely harmful to women's physical health and life safety. In order to obtain effective treatment at an early stage, it is necessary to make a timely and accurate diagnosis of ovarian cysts.

1. Ultrasound examination

Ultrasound is an important means of detecting ovarian cysts, with a clinical diagnosis rate of up to 90%. It can detect the location, size, shape and nature of the mass. If you see images of the uterus and ovaries, the masses next to them are mostly ovarian cysts. Cysts can be benign or malignant. Once a cyst is found, a vaginal four-dimensional color ultrasound test can be performed to diagnose whether it is cancer.

2. Hormone determination

A LH/FSH ≥ 3 is diagnostic, and estrone levels often exceed estradiol levels. Androgen levels are high, while progesterone levels are low. Neither LH nor estradiol has a normal preovulatory peak. Prolactin is also elevated in about 30% of patients.

3. Gynecological examination

Women should undergo regular gynecological examinations. Generally, signs of early ovarian cysts can be found during gynecological examinations. About 67% of patients can feel one or both ovaries.

4. Cytological examination

This method is to aspirate ascites through fornix puncture for cytological examination, and fluid can also be aspirated from the rectouterine pouch for examination at the same time. Cytological examination has important diagnostic value for detecting whether ovarian cysts have become malignant.
