How long after abortion is it safe to have sex or give birth?

There are two issues that women are more concerned about after an abortion: one is when to have sex without harming the body, and the other is when it is safe to get pregnant again.

Generally speaking, women are prohibited from having sex for at least one month after an abortion, and should take more rest and strengthen their nutrition. After all, abortion is a form of termination of pregnancy by artificially scraping out the embryonic tissue in the uterus, which will cause certain damage to the endometrium and affect the natural immunity of the female reproductive system. It is more likely to get infected after the operation, so it is not advisable to have sex within a short period of time to avoid increasing the chance of infection and causing endometritis, salpingitis, and even inducing female infertility.

In addition, it is best for women to wait one year after abortion before giving birth. If there are special circumstances, they should wait at least half a year before getting pregnant. Because abortion surgery removes embryonic tissue in the uterine cavity by suction or curettage, it takes a process for the uterus to recover after surgery. If you conceive again too early, the endometrium has not yet completely recovered, and it is difficult to maintain the implantation and development of the fertilized egg, which increases the risk of miscarriage. In addition, most women who have had an abortion are physically weak and need some time to recover. If they conceive again too early, they may also suffer from fetal maldevelopment or even spontaneous abortion due to lack of physical strength or poor nutrition.
