Who are the most susceptible to vulvar leukoplakia?

Vulvar leukoplakia causes serious physical and mental harm to women. The following types of women are susceptible to the disease.

1. Women who often wear tight jeans

Women who often wear tight jeans are prone to long-term friction and irritation of the vulva, and are susceptible to vulvar leukoplakia. Because the vulva is home to important organs such as the urethra and vagina, wearing tight pants, especially tight jeans, which are thick in fabric, can easily lead to poor local ventilation, and being in a dark and warm environment for a long time provides an opportunity for bacteria and other microorganisms to take advantage, causing infection by pathogenic bacteria and inducing vulvar leukoplakia. However, this does not mean that women cannot wear tight pants. Pay attention to changing underwear frequently and keeping the local area well ventilated, which can effectively prevent such diseases.

2. Women who have undergone ovarian traumatic treatment

Women who have ovarian disease and have undergone radiotherapy or bilateral oophorectomy have a higher incidence of vulvar leukoplakia, which is mainly related to damage to the body's immune mechanism and changes in sex hormone levels. Although some young girls also suffer from vulvar leukoplakia, generally as the ovarian function matures, the symptoms can gradually ease or heal on their own.

3. Women with vulvar skin itching symptoms

Vulvar skin itching is not necessarily caused by inflammation, it may also be caused by local neurovascular malnutrition. Such women must not scratch the vulva repeatedly to prevent inflammatory reactions, abnormal epidermal growth, or induce nerve degeneration, resulting in local hypopigmentation and inducing vulvar leukoplakia.
