What are the clear diagnosis methods for pelvic inflammatory disease?

Pelvic inflammatory disease is a common gynecological disease and can be diagnosed through the following examination items.

1. Laparoscopy

Laparoscopic examination is mainly used to identify pelvic inflammatory disease, distinguishing it from suspected pelvic inflammatory disease or other acute abdomen. It is an important measure to make a clear diagnosis of pelvic inflammatory disease. It can also make a preliminary judgment on the extent of the lesion and provide a strong basis for subsequent treatment.

2. Ultrasound examination

Ultrasound examination mainly uses B-type or grayscale ultrasound scanning and filming to identify masses or abscesses formed by adhesions of the fallopian tubes, ovaries, and intestines, with an accuracy rate of up to 85%.

3. Secretion smear examination

The secretions sampled can be vaginal secretions, cervical secretions, urethral secretions, and peritoneal fluid. The extract can be directly made into a thin smear, which is then stained after drying. The presence of gram-negative diplococci in polymorphonuclear leukocytes under a microscope can indicate the presence of gonorrhea. If the smear is treated with fluorescein monoclonal antibody dye and fluorescent spots are found under a fluorescence microscope, the presence of Chlamydia trachomatis can be indicated.

4. Pathogen culture

The secretions extracted above were inoculated on the culture medium within 30 seconds and cultured in an incubator at 35°C for 48 hours. They were then subjected to glycolysis to achieve the purpose of bacterial identification, providing a strong basis for the subsequent selection of antibiotics.
