Can cervical erosion cause frequent urination?

Can cervical erosion cause frequent urination?

Cervical erosion is not a disease. The common cervical erosion in clinical practice actually refers to the proliferation of columnar epithelium in the cervical canal mucosa and the extension of the defect of the leucocyte epithelium in the uterine vaginal part to cover the wound surface and replace the original defective area of the leucocyte epithelium. Because the columnar epithelium is thin, the mucosa and capillaries are obvious and easy to see. Therefore, the diseased mucosa of the external os of the cervix and the bright red erosion-like area can be seen by the naked eye. Generally, no special treatment is required.

However, when the patient has abnormal secretions (such as large amount, viscosity, blood, odor) or contact bleeding, medical intervention is required. This is because cervical erosion at this time is mostly a manifestation of cervical inflammation. If not treated in time, it can aggravate the condition: for example, the pathogens of cervical erosion can ascend to cause endometritis, and can also spread to the pelvic cavity through the parauterine ligaments and lymphatic vessels, leading to chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. If the inflammation spreads to the bladder triangle, it can also lead to diseases of the female urinary system, manifested as irritating symptoms such as urinary pain, frequent urination, or painful urination.

Therefore, women with severe cervical erosion should receive timely treatment to prevent inflammation from spreading to the bladder, causing frequent urination, affecting the patient's mood, and even causing irritability, affecting normal work and life. Therefore, when cervical erosion is combined with abnormal secretions or contact bleeding, women should pay close attention, get timely diagnosis, and receive timely treatment.
