What should be paid attention to when using cryotherapy to treat cervical erosion

Cryotherapy refers to the use of a special rapid freezing device to freeze, necrotize, and fall off the lesion tissue on the surface of cervical erosion. The commonly used cryogen is liquid nitrogen. Women with cervical erosion should pay attention to the timing of treatment, operation method, and postoperative care when choosing this treatment method to promote the smooth progress of the operation and consolidate the treatment effect. Relevant precautions include:

1. Preoperative examination

Patients should undergo cervical scraping or pathological biopsy before surgery to clarify the diagnosis, especially to rule out malignant lesions, so as to avoid misdiagnosis and treatment delays in the disease.

2. Choice of treatment timing

When using cryotherapy, it is generally performed within 3 to 5 days after the end of menstruation to avoid bleeding and frostbite infection.

3. Precautions during treatment

Before treatment, the appropriate probe should be selected according to the size of the erosion surface. During freezing, the probe must cover and be in close contact with the erosion surface. After freezing, wait for natural rewarming, and remove the probe after the deep head is naturally separated from the local tissue. It should be noted that the vagina should be protected during treatment to avoid frostbite.

4. Precautions after treatment

Sexual intercourse, tub bathing and vaginal douching are prohibited within 8 weeks after the operation to avoid bleeding and infection; observe vaginal bleeding. If the amount of bleeding is heavy, exceeds the menstrual amount or the bleeding time is long, it should be treated in time; observe the efficacy after treatment. If the treatment is not thorough, it can be treated again after an interval of 8 weeks.
