Long-term use of sanitary pads can cause cervical erosion

Cervical erosion can be divided into physiological and pathological. Pathological changes usually occur when the cervix is inflamed or when cervical cells become malignant. Clinically, pathological changes are usually classified as chronic cervicitis and timely treatment is recommended. It is well known that the occurrence of cervical erosion is related to factors such as multiple miscarriages, excessive cleaning, and unclean sexual life. However, what everyone does not expect is that long-term use of sanitary pads can also cause cervical erosion.

There is generally no problem for healthy women to use sanitary pads every day, but due to different physical conditions, living habits, and hygiene requirements of each person, some women may have some hidden dangers when using them: since most pads have a layer of plastic at the bottom, the air permeability is poor, and the female genitals are damp and sweaty, which can easily breed pathogens. If the sanitary pads are not replaced for a long time, the humidity and temperature of the female genitals will increase, which will create suitable conditions for the growth and reproduction of bacteria and fungi, and may also destroy the pH of the vagina, causing vaginitis, and then may also cause cervical erosion.

The quality of sanitary products on the market currently varies greatly. Sanitary pads that do not meet hygiene standards (mainly containing excessive levels of E. coli, Enterobacteriaceae, fungi, etc.) not only fail to keep the genital environment clean and dry, but also cause vaginal infections and subsequent cervical erosion. Therefore, when choosing sanitary napkins and sanitary pads, women should choose products that meet quality standards and also be careful to avoid long-term use of such products.
