Classification of cervical erosion according to the size of the erosion area

Cervical erosion can be divided into many different types according to different situations. According to the area of erosion, it can be divided into three types: Ⅰ (mild), Ⅱ (moderate), and Ⅲ (severe). The specific manifestations are as follows:

1. Grade I (mild) cervical erosion

When the erosion area accounts for less than 1/3 of the total area of the cervix, it is mild cervical erosion. The patient's condition is relatively mild and generally asymptomatic. Some patients may experience increased and sticky vaginal discharge, but the harm is minor and easy to treat.

2. Ⅱ (moderate) degree cervical erosion

When the erosion area accounts for 1/3 to 2/3 of the total area of the cervix, it is called moderate cervical erosion, which is mainly manifested by increased vaginal discharge, yellow color, sticky and odorous. When inflammation stimulates the vulva, it can also cause itching symptoms; when the erosion surface becomes obviously congested and bright red, there may be contact bleeding during sexual intercourse or irregular vaginal bleeding. Moderate cervical erosion is between mild and severe cervical erosion. If the treatment is timely and appropriate, it is easier to cure.

3. Grade III (severe) cervical erosion

When the erosion area exceeds 2/3 of the total area of the cervix, it is called severe cervical erosion. Patients will experience increased and sticky leucorrhea with blood in it, as well as irregular vaginal bleeding. If the erosion area of severe cervical erosion is wide and the infiltration is deep, the inflammation can reach the pelvic cavity through the lymphatic circulation and cause pelvic inflammatory disease. Patients may experience symptoms of lower abdominal distension and lumbar pain. Some patients also have symptoms such as frequent urination and urgency.
