Long-term constipation can lead to adnexitis

Xiao Wei is a real white-collar worker. The office is where she works. She stays there all day and is busy all day. Xiao Wei is the type who will not gain weight no matter how much she eats. Therefore, she does not sweat in the gym and still maintains a good figure. Perhaps due to long-term sitting, lack of exercise and abnormal diet, she has always been tortured by constipation. A few days ago, there was a seminar in Shanghai, and the leader arranged for her and several other colleagues to attend. I don’t know if it was due to acclimatization or diet, but Xiao Wei didn’t have a bowel movement in 3 days. During the regular meeting on Monday, Xiao Wei suddenly felt unbearable abdominal pain and chills all over. Her colleagues rushed her to the hospital. Her temperature was 38.3℃. During the gynecological examination, there was obvious tenderness and rebound pain in the left adnexal area. The routine blood test showed elevated white blood cells and an increased neutrophil ratio. She was diagnosed with acute adnexitis.

Through the consultation, it was learned that Xiao Wei had severe constipation. While actively treating adnexitis, the doctor suggested that she treat the symptoms of constipation well.

She didn't understand, constipation is a digestive system problem, how can it cause adnexitis? The doctor explained that constipation seems to have nothing to do with female adnexitis, but long-term constipation can indeed cause adnexitis. This is because the female's fallopian tubes, ovaries and other internal reproductive organs are located in the pelvic cavity, adjacent to the bladder in front, and close to the intestines in the back and on the left and right. With long-term constipation, various bacteria, viruses, molds and other pathogens in the excreta in the intestines can directly invade the fallopian tubes and ovaries through the capillaries and lymphatic vessels, causing inflammation.
