Taking Chinese medicine for 4 months, uterine fibroids shrank by half

Two months ago, 42-year-old Ms. Yu was diagnosed with uterine fibroids during a physical examination organized by her company. Ms. Yu was very nervous and went to the gynecology hospital for an ultrasound after her period ended. The ultrasound showed a low-echo mass of 5.1cm×4.7cm×3.6cm between the muscle walls and abundant blood flow around it. She was diagnosed with uterine fibroids. The obstetrician and gynecologist recommended surgery, but Ms. Yu was unwilling to have surgery and hoped to be treated in other ways.

So, Ms. Yu went to the local Chinese medicine hospital. After the diagnosis by Chinese medicine, Ms. Yu usually had a slightly heavy menstrual flow, no abdominal pain; she was slightly plump, with a fair complexion, a dark tongue, a thin coating, and a fine and wiry pulse. The syndrome analysis showed that she had qi stagnation and blood stasis, which became addictive after a long time. It was mostly caused by weak vital energy and disharmony of blood and qi. Chinese medicine diagnosis: syndrome (qi stagnation and blood stasis), treatment should start with strengthening the vital energy and softening and dispersing the nodules.

The prescription is as follows: Astragalus, roasted turtle shell, roasted pangolin scales, Curcuma, Aralia, Sargassum, Kelp, Elephant Fritillaria, Prunella Vulgaris, Gleditsia sinensis, Aquilegia fructus, Cat's Claw, and 2 tablets of leech capsules, 3 times a day, stop taking during menstruation.

Ms. Yu came for a follow-up examination after taking the medicine for 2 months. The B-ultrasound showed that there was a 3.7cm×3.5cm×3.0cm low-echo mass in the posterior wall of the uterus, with a clear capsule and no obvious blood flow around it, which showed that the front was effective. So the doctor asked Ms. Yu to continue taking the medicine for another 2 months. When she was re-examined, the diameter of the intramural fibroid had shrunk to 3.0cm.

At this time, Ms. Yu had been taking the medicine for 4 months, and her fibroids had shrunk significantly, so she wanted to stop taking the medicine temporarily for observation. At Ms. Yu's request, the doctor told her to consolidate the effect with leech capsules and have regular checkups.
