The definitive diagnosis of fishy-smelling Trichomonas vaginitis can be made through microscopic examination of secretions. Generally, Trichomonas vaginalis with wavy movements can be found. Culture can be performed if necessary to increase the positive detection rate. Trichomonas vaginalis can devour sperm, and vaginal secretions can hinder the survival of sperm and cause infertility, so it should be treated actively.
