Introduction to the common causes and hazards of ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is different from normal pregnancy. It not only endangers the patient's health, but also fails to produce a normal fetus and causes miscarriage. It is a common and dangerous disease in gynecology. Ectopic pregnancy often occurs in the fallopian tube, ovary, abdominal cavity, broad ligament, cervix and rudimentary uterine horn, etc., and the causes are different.

1. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease and salpingitis Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is the most common factor that interferes with the normal operation of the fertilized egg and is the common and main cause of ectopic pregnancy. The cause of salpingitis is mainly the pathogens that cause sexually transmitted diseases, commonly gonococci and Chlamydia trachomatis. Inflammation causes adhesion, stenosis, and irregularity of the fallopian tube mucosa. These pathological changes lead to weakened peristalsis of the fallopian tube wall muscles, thereby affecting the transportation of the fertilized egg. The fertilized egg is blocked in the fallopian tube, which means it may implant and develop in situ, resulting in an ectopic pregnancy in the fallopian tube.

2. Appendicitis perforation is another high-risk factor for ectopic pregnancy. Appendicitis perforation forms periappendiceal abscess, which affects the fallopian tubes and blocks them, increasing the risk of ectopic pregnancy by 2 times.

3. Those who have had a history of ectopic pregnancy have a higher probability of having another ectopic pregnancy. Those who retain the fallopian tube during ectopic pregnancy treatment have a higher rate of ectopic pregnancy, but repeated ectopic pregnancy often occurs in the contralateral fallopian tube, suggesting that both fallopian tubes may have the same potential dysfunction.

4. Artificial abortion is definitely related to ectopic pregnancy, and its harmfulness increases by 1 time. The more times of artificial abortion, the greater the risk of ectopic pregnancy. Pelvic endometriosis may also be a risk factor for ectopic pregnancy.

At the same time, ectopic pregnancy is often related to the patient's bad living habits, such as smoking and drinking, which may increase the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease and lead to abnormal anatomical structure of the fallopian tube. Women who smoke and drink for a long time are also more likely to suffer from ectopic pregnancy, which is more dangerous.
