A brief analysis of the three main methods of detecting ectopic pregnancy

Among the various methods for checking ectopic pregnancy, there are three main ones. Based on these three methods, ectopic pregnancy can be accurately diagnosed and help ectopic pregnancy patients receive timely treatment. So what are the main methods for checking ectopic pregnancy ? Let's talk about the main methods for checking ectopic pregnancy.

In general, the main methods for detecting ectopic pregnancy are:

1. Pregnancy test: When the embryo is alive or the trophoblast is viable, the syncytial cells secrete HCG, and the pregnancy test may be positive. Since the HCG level in patients with ectopic pregnancy is lower than that in normal pregnancy, the general HCG determination method has a low positive rate. The examination of ectopic pregnancy must be carried out using the more sensitive β-HCG radioimmunoassay or monoclonal antibody enzyme-labeled method.

2. Ultrasound diagnosis: Ultrasound detection of the gestational sac and fetal heartbeat is very important for the examination of ectopic pregnancy. If the pregnancy is located outside the uterus, it can be diagnosed as ectopic pregnancy; if the gestational sac is located inside the uterus, ectopic pregnancy can be ruled out.

3. Posterior fornix puncture: It is also the main method for checking ectopic pregnancy. Since the blood in the abdominal cavity is most likely to accumulate in the rectouterine pouch, even if the amount of blood is not large, it can be sucked out through the posterior fornix puncture. Use an 18-gauge long needle to puncture the rectouterine pouch from the posterior fornix of the vagina. If dark red non-coagulated blood is drawn out, it is a positive result, indicating the presence of intra-abdominal blood.

The above is a brief analysis of the main methods of checking for ectopic pregnancy. I believe everyone should have some understanding of this. If you are diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy, you must go to the hospital for treatment immediately to avoid missing the best time for treatment, which is disadvantageous to the patient.
