Dietary preferences and taboos for patients with amenorrhea

For those who suffer from amenorrhea due to deficiency syndrome, they should eat more nourishing foods: lamb, chicken, lean pork, longan, walnut, date, chestnut, lotus seeds, wolfberry, yam, etc.

For those with amenorrhea, the diet should be light and easy to digest, and they should eat more foods that have the effect of promoting blood circulation and relieving menstruation, such as hawthorn, rapeseed, black beans, black fungus, cuttlefish, oranges, tangerine cakes, etc.

It is best not to eat foods that are not conducive to the nutrition of essence and blood for people with amenorrhea, such as garlic, kohlrabi, tea, white radish, pickles, mustard tuber, winter melon, etc. Eating too much will damage the formation of essence and blood, resulting in a lack of menstrual blood and amenorrhea, so they should be avoided.

Various cold drinks, mixed cold dishes, cold fruits, cold aquatic products and other foods can cause vasoconstriction, aggravate blood stasis, and cause menstrual blood to stop flowing, so they should be avoided.

In addition, fatty foods are not suitable for patients with amenorrhea, such as preserved egg yolk, chicken egg yolk, duck egg yolk, pig brain, pig liver, pig kidney, lard, pig fat, pig intestines, pig heart, mutton, lamb liver, carp, cuttlefish, chicken, turtle, herring, grass carp, shrimp, hairtail, clams, crab, cream, chocolate, etc. These foods contain high levels of protein, cholesterol, and fat. Eating too much of them can easily cause excess nutrition in the body, further increase fat accumulation, aggravate obesity, block the meridians, and prevent menstrual blood from flowing normally. Therefore, they should be eaten as little as possible or avoided.
