Prevention of cervicitis

Prevention of cervicitis

To prevent cervicitis, you should keep your vulva clean, pay attention to hygiene after abortion and during the postpartum period, and prevent infection. Do not have sex during menstruation, do a good job of family planning, avoid unplanned pregnancy, and have fewer or no artificial abortions. At the same time, you should also avoid spicy, sweet and greasy foods in your diet:

Prevention of cervicitis

1. Avoid spicy, fried, and warm foods: Spicy, fried foods such as pepper, fennel, pepper, onion, mustard, roast chicken, fried pork chops, etc.; warm foods such as beef, mutton, dog meat, etc. can cause heat and aggravate the condition.

2. Avoid irritating foods such as sea fish, crabs, shrimps, clams, razor clams, oysters, abalone, etc., which are not conducive to the reduction of inflammation.

3. Avoid sweet and greasy foods: Overly sweet and greasy foods such as candy, cream cakes, eight-treasure rice pudding, glutinous rice cakes, lard and fatty pork, mutton fat, and egg yolks. These foods can help to dampen the body and reduce the therapeutic effect, making the disease protracted and difficult to treat.

4. Avoid drinking alcohol: Alcohol is a warm and stimulating food. Drinking it will aggravate dampness and heat, making the condition worse.

Clinically, we often hear about cervicitis, cervical erosion, cervical hypertrophy, cervical polyps, cervical cysts, etc. Strictly speaking, these diseases all belong to cervicitis. Specifically, cervical mucositis, cervical erosion, cervical hypertrophy, cervical cysts and cervical polyps are several specific lesions of cervicitis, among which cervical erosion is the most common in clinical practice. From this, we can also see the importance of timely treatment of cervicitis. Only by timely and standardized treatment at the beginning of inflammation can we avoid the development of inflammation into erosion, cysts or polyps.

Cervical erosion can be divided into three degrees according to the size of the cervical erosion area: A. Mild: the erosion surface is less than 1/3 of the entire cervical area; B. Moderate: the erosion surface occupies 1/3 to 2/3 of the entire cervical area; C. Severe: the erosion surface occupies more than 2/3 of the entire cervical area.

The following tests should be done to diagnose cervicitis:

1. The focus of gynecological examination is the size, shape, texture, thickness of the cervical canal, and whether there is contact bleeding. Secondly, check the condition of the vulva, vagina, uterus and paracervical tissue (ovaries, fallopian tubes, pelvic lymph nodes, etc.).

2. Cervical smear cytology examination is a routine gynecological examination. It is simple, easy, cost-effective, and the most important auxiliary examination and the preferred initial screening method for cancer prevention surveys.

3. Colposcopy can quickly detect lesions that are invisible to the naked eye. Taking biopsies from suspicious areas during colposcopy can significantly improve the accuracy of biopsies.

4. The iodine test and naked eye observation method are very simple and cheap, and can detect at least 2/3 of the lesions. As a preliminary screening method for cervical cancer, 3%-5% acetic acid solution is applied to the cervix. The reaction of the cervical epithelium to acetic acid is observed, and then a biopsy is taken from the white lesion area.

5. Pathological examination of cervical biopsy tissue is the basis for confirming cervical cancer.

At present, medical experts have shown that the main cause of cervical cancer is that women are infected with human papillomavirus. Therefore, medical scientists are working on an economical, efficient and cheap human papillomavirus test to screen for early cervical cancer, which is expected to be used in clinical practice soon.
