How to perform an abortion

How is an abortion performed?

Abortion is divided into medical abortion and artificial abortion. If you choose medical abortion, you need to do the corresponding examination before taking the medicine, and then take the medicine correctly. If you want to have an artificial abortion, you first need to do a pregnancy test diagnosis and general examination, and then choose the correct surgical method.

1. How to perform medical abortion

1. Do the appropriate examination before taking the medicine

Many women take medication to abort after finding out they are pregnant unexpectedly, without any examination, which is very dangerous. If you want to achieve the best results, you need to do the corresponding examination before taking the medication, mainly to understand the time of pregnancy, check the size of the gestational sac, and then do other gynecological examinations to ensure that the conditions for medical abortion are met.

2. Take medication correctly

There are two main drugs for pregnant women to induce abortion, namely mifepristone tablets and misoprostol. Take mifepristone tablets, which is a drug that inhibits embryo development. Take it every morning and evening for the first two days, and take misoprostol on the third morning. This drug can promote uterine contraction and expel embryonic tissue. Within two hours after taking the medicine, the uterus will contract violently, causing abortion.

2. How to perform artificial abortion

1. Pregnancy test diagnosis and general examination

Before artificial abortion, pregnancy examination and diagnosis are required to ensure pregnancy. After that, we need to check the vagina to see if there are any surgical contraindications such as vaginitis or cervical erosion, and find out the specific location of the uterus. Then do general examinations such as blood and urine routine, electrocardiogram, etc., and also need to do B-ultrasound examination to determine the size of the gestational sac. After all the examinations are normal, the next operation can be performed.

2. Choose the right surgical method

If it is within 12 weeks of pregnancy, artificial abortion is usually performed by curettage, using a suction device and preoperative removal of the embryonic tissue in the uterus, and then suctioning it out. If it is 35 to 60 days of early pregnancy, endoscopic visual abortion surgery can also be used. This surgery is more effective and can avoid some adverse consequences.
