Many medical professionals and related organizations will give recommendations on the amount of exercise people should get, telling them how many minutes of exercise they should get each week. However, for busy modern people, it is not so easy to find time for exercise. The American Journal of Preventive Medicine recently published a new publication from the American Cancer Society that brings good news: Even if your exercise level is lower than the standard recommendations, it may still benefit your health. In the study, the authors reviewed the data of nearly 140,000 subjects participating in a cancer prevention program from a database. 95% of the subjects said they would do some walking exercise, and nearly half of the subjects said walking was the only moderate or above exercise they participated in. The analysis found that even just two hours of walking per week was associated with a lower risk of death from all causes, compared with people who were completely inactive.
