Since 1970, the idea that a low-fat diet is the best way to lose weight has remained for decades, but now the new concept is that a low-sugar diet is the most effective way to lose weight. Foreign studies have shown that eating less high-sugar foods will have a better weight loss effect. Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health and Brigham and Women's Hospital analyzed more than 53 research reports containing research data on 68,128 people who were trying to lose weight and found that, excluding weight loss supplements or other dietary control methods, eating less carbohydrates can help lose 1.14 kg more weight in a year than eating less fat. Of course, without changing other drinking habits, reducing fat intake is still helpful for weight loss. Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables and non-processed foods can also help to a certain extent in the long run. The most important thing about weight loss is the total calorie intake. Eating boiled oil-free meals can only reduce the total weight of fat by a few grams. In comparison, eating one less piece of bread may reduce more calories. Cakes, biscuits and sweet drinks should never be touched! The study was published in Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology. Published Online: 29 October 2015. In press.
