Drinking one cup of cola a day increases the risk of stroke in women by 80%

If you can have a can of cold carbonated drink and pour it down your throat on a hot summer day, it will be very refreshing. However, drinking too much of these drinks such as soda and cola will not only make you fat, but according to the British "Daily Mail", even if women only drink one glass of carbonated drink a day, their risk of stroke will increase by 80%.

A study conducted by Osaka University in Japan and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition pointed out that women who love to eat sweets and drink sweet drinks are more likely to develop blood clots in the brain, and their risk of ischemic stroke is greatly increased. This statement was also confirmed in a US study published earlier this year, which showed that drinking too much sugary drinks can easily lead to obesity and diabetes, which also put people at high risk of stroke.

The Japanese research team took more than 40,000 middle-aged adults aged 40 to 59 as research subjects, and tracked their eating habits and frequency of drinking sugary drinks for 18 years. During this period, 2,000 people suffered a stroke. After comparing the dietary habits of stroke patients with those of subjects without stroke, it was found that stroke patients drank at least one glass of sugary beverage every day. However, this is less evident in men, and sugary drinks appear to be more harmful to women.
