What causes cervical erosion?

What causes cervical erosion?

Cervical erosion refers to the ectopic appearance of the cervical columnar epithelium. The physiological causes of ectopic appearance of the cervical columnar epithelium are excessive sexual activity and abnormal hormone secretion; the pathological causes may be related to cervicitis and human papillomavirus infection.

Causes of cervical columnar epithelium ectopia:

1. Physiological factors: If you have excessive sexual activity in your daily life or your body secretes too much estrogen, it may cause excessive stimulation to the cervix, thus causing cervical columnar epithelium ectopia. This is a normal physiological phenomenon, and if you have no discomfort, you usually do not need additional intervention treatment.

2. Pathological factors: If there is cervicitis or human papillomavirus infection, the stimulation of inflammatory factors and viruses may also cause changes in the microenvironment of the cervix, leading to cervical columnar epithelial ectopia. If the cause of the disease is related to cervicitis, you can take oral levofloxacin hydrochloride tablets, amoxicillin capsules and other drugs for treatment under the guidance of a doctor. If it is related to human papillomavirus infection, the results of TCT and colposcopy biopsy should be combined to clarify whether there are cervical lesions at present. According to the results, cervical conization LEEP, cold knife cone biopsy, physical therapy such as freezing or laser, vaginal medication, and oral antiviral Chinese medicine to increase immunity can be used to prevent the continued progression of the disease.

Things to note about cervical columnar epithelium ectopia:

During the period of cervical columnar epithelium ectopia, attention should be paid to the hygienic care of the vulva area, and at the same time, attention should be paid to the health of sexual life to avoid having multiple sexual partners at the same time. If cervical columnar epithelium ectopia causes abnormal symptoms such as abnormal secretions, contact bleeding, vaginal burning sensation, etc., it is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment in time.
