What are the symptoms and phenomena of cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is a medical term in the past. We now believe that cervical erosion is a physiological phenomenon, not a pathological phenomenon. We call cervical erosion ectopic cervical columnar epithelium. There is a piece of red epithelium around the cervical opening, which is actually columnar epithelium. Columnar epithelium can secrete fluid, so women with cervical columnar epithelium ectopic have more vaginal secretions. This secretion is often a culture medium for bacteria. As the secretion increases, the bacteria get sufficient nutrition and will multiply widely, causing vaginitis. The secretion is affected by inflammation and different types of bacteria, and can have different manifestations. It can be thin, light yellow, yellow or even green. In the case of bleeding, it can also be brown.

Cervical columnar epithelial ectopia does not require treatment, but it needs to be distinguished from cervical cancer. We should do regular cervical cancer screening. If both TCT and HPV screening are negative, no treatment is required.
