Why do I have stomach pain after an abortion? There are 4 reasons

Women who have abdominal pain after abortion must pay attention to it, because in addition to physiological factors, there are also reasons such as incomplete abortion, intrauterine blood accumulation, uterine perforation, and postoperative infection. For example, when women undergo irregular abortion, it is easy to cause serious complications such as uterine perforation, which can cause very severe pain symptoms.

Many women who have an unexpected pregnancy will undergo abortion to solve the problem. However, some women choose small clinics or informal hospitals for abortion. They often experience abdominal pain after the operation and are very worried about it, fearing that their health will be threatened in the future. So why does the abdominal pain after an abortion occur?
Women often experience abdominal pain within two to three days after an abortion, but this is a physiological abdominal pain and will not last too long. If it lasts too long, it means that something abnormal has occurred inside the body. Common causes of abdominal pain after an abortion are as follows:
1. Incomplete abortion
Incomplete abortion means that the embryonic tissue in the uterine cavity is not completely removed during the abortion operation. In order to expel the remaining embryonic tissue, the uterus will experience paroxysmal contractions after the operation, accompanied by severe paroxysmal abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, and the blood is bright red, which may be mixed with large blood clots.
2. Intrauterine hemorrhage
The first few hours after abortion is a high incidence period of intrauterine hemorrhage. The patient will feel unbearable abdominal pain and a small amount of vaginal bleeding. Examination of the patient's uterus may show that it is significantly enlarged, tender, and soft.
3. Uterine perforation
Uterine perforation is a serious complication that can easily occur if a woman undergoes an irregular abortion. Once uterine perforation occurs, severe abdominal pain will suddenly occur, there will be a small amount of vaginal bleeding, and uterine perforation will lead to pregnancy within one year of cesarean section and excessive tilt of the uterus. The incidence rate is high in women who have undergone multiple abortions.
4. Postoperative infection
Insufficient disinfection during surgery or the patient's lack of attention to hygiene after surgery are the most likely situations to cause infection. The patient's pain symptoms are persistent and may be accompanied by increased vaginal discharge, fever and other symptoms.
The above is an introduction to the reasons for abdominal pain after abortion. I believe that after reading it, you will have more knowledge in this area. At the same time, you also know that abortion is very harmful to your health. In order to better stay away from the harm of abortion and its complications, couples of childbearing age must take contraceptive measures when they do not have any childbearing requirements.
