How is hydatidiform mole classified?

Hydatidiform mole can be divided into two types: complete hydatidiform mole and partial hydatidiform mole, and the number of chromosomes is somewhat different.

1. Complete hydatidiform mole <br/>The embryonic chromosomes mainly come from the father. Because the activity of the egg and chromosomes is lost or low, the haploid sperm 23X enters the egg nucleus during the formation of the fertilized egg and divides into 46XX through cell division. In a complete hydatidiform mole, a small number of chromosomes are 46XY. When two sperms with different sex chromosomes combine with an egg cell to form a fertilized egg, it can be called a complete hydatidiform mole.
2. Partial hydatidiform mole <br/>The karyotype of partial hydatidiform mole embryos is mainly triploid. A normal egg is fertilized by two or more sperms at the same time. Or a normal egg is fertilized by a diploid sperm that undergoes meiosis to form a fertilized egg, which is called a partial hydatidiform mole. The probability of partial hydatidiform mole is generally higher than that of complete hydatidiform mole.
