What auxiliary examinations are needed for women with amenorrhea

Amenorrhea is a gynecological disease that many women have experienced. Medically, amenorrhea can be divided into primary amenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea. The former is mostly normal and generally does not require treatment, while the latter should be treated as soon as possible. There are many causes of the disease and it needs to be diagnosed through examinations. So, what auxiliary examinations do women need to do for amenorrhea?

1. Diagnostic curettage

It is suitable for married women. It is mainly used to understand the size of the uterus and whether there is adhesion in the cervical canal or uterine cavity.

2. Hysterosalpingography

Understand the shape, size and condition of the uterine cavity and the fallopian tubes, and diagnose reproductive system lesions such as dysplasia, malformations, tuberculosis and uterine adhesions.

3. Hysteroscopy

The uterine cavity and endometrium were observed under direct vision of the hysteroscope to check for adhesions and suspected tuberculosis lesions, and routine samples were taken for pathological examination.

4. Progesterone test

Mainly used to assess endogenous estrogen levels.

5. Sequential test of estrogen and progesterone

Take 1 mg of diethylstilbestrol every day for 20 consecutive days, and add medroxyprogesterone 10 mg orally every day for the last 10 days. Withdrawal bleeding occurs 3 to 7 days after stopping the drug, which is positive, indicating that the endometrium functions normally. Amenorrhea is caused by low estrogen levels in the patient's body. It is grade II amenorrhea and the cause should be further investigated.
