What are the complications of threatened abortion?

Pregnant women are very worried about threatened abortion, so let's take a look at what threatened abortion is. Threatened abortion refers to a small amount of vaginal bleeding that occurs in early pregnancy and stops at times, accompanied by mild lower abdominal pain and backache. After understanding what threatened abortion is, let's take a closer look at the complications of threatened abortion.

Common complications of threatened abortion surgery can be divided into three categories:

1. Complications during surgery:

1. Comprehensive reaction of miscarriage: The patient suddenly experiences bradycardia, decreased blood pressure, pale complexion, profuse sweating and a series of other symptoms. In severe cases, fainting and convulsions may occur.

2. Bleeding: The amount may be more than 200 ml, or even massive bleeding, which can be life-threatening in severe cases.

3. Uterine perforation: It needs to be treated promptly and correctly, as it can be life-threatening in severe cases.

4. Missed aspiration: The pregnancy tissue cannot be aspirated out and the pregnancy continues to develop.

2. Recent complications:

1. Incomplete surgery (residual surgery): Vaginal bleeding lasts for a long time after surgery, which is prone to secondary infection. Drugs, surgery, and hysteroscopy may be required if necessary.

2. Infection: endometritis, adnexitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., with abdominal pain, fever, and purulent secretions with a foul odor.

3. Intrauterine blood accumulation: The uterus has poor contraction and little activity, and bleeding easily accumulates in the uterine cavity.

3. Long-term complications:

1. Intrauterine adhesion: Sometimes accompanied by periodic lower abdominal pain or uterine enlargement and blood accumulation. Intrauterine adhesion is prone to recurrence after treatment, seriously affecting fertility again.

2. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.

3. Secondary infertility.

4. Abnormal menstruation.
