Diagnostic scheme for cervical warts

Diagnostic scheme for cervical warts

As we all know, for many people, cervical warts are like a nightmare that haunts them all the time, making them struggle but unable to get rid of it. Especially some men and women with a history of unclean sex are more worried about whether they are infected with cervical warts. When they find that they have cervical warts, it is best to go to the hospital for professional examination and diagnosis, and then get correct treatment. Only early treatment can bring peace of mind early. Here we will introduce some methods for identifying cervical warts.

Histochemical examination

This is one of the methods for checking cervical condyloma. The main method is to remove a small amount of lesion tissue to make a smear and stain it with specific anti-human papillomavirus antibodies. If there is a viral antigen in the lesion, the antigen and antibody will bind. In the peroxidase antiperoxidase PAP method, the nucleus can be stained red. This method is highly specific and rapid, which is helpful for diagnosis.

Genetic diagnosis

The PCR method developed in recent years has the advantages of specificity, sensitivity, simplicity and rapidity, opening up a new way for HPV detection. So far, HPV is difficult to detect using traditional virus culture and serological techniques, and the main experimental diagnostic technology is nucleic acid hybridization.

Immunohistological examination

When examining cervical warts, the peroxidase anti-peroxidase method is usually used to show the viral protein in the warts to prove that there are viral antigens in the wart lesions. When HPV protein is positive, a weak red positive reaction may appear in the superficial epithelial cells of cervical warts.

Acetic acid white test

The acetic acid whitening test is one of the inspection items for cervical warts. The method is to apply 3-5% acetic acid to the wart for 2-5 minutes. The lesion will turn white and slightly raised. Anal lesions may take 15 minutes. The principle of this test is the result of protein coagulation and whitening with acid. The keratin produced by HPV-infected cells is different from that produced by normal uninfected epithelial cells. Only the former can be decolorized by acetic acid.

People with cervical condylomata must know about these, because it is related to the patient's health. Knowing these can make correct judgments and help patients get early treatment.
