Menopausal women need to be careful about ectopic pregnancy

Menopause refers to the period from a few months before menstruation stops completely to several years after menopause. Generally, menopausal women refer to people aged 45 to 55. Generally, after women enter menopause, their menstruation begins to change, and irregular menstruation occurs until menstruation stops completely. During this period, women's fertility gradually disappears, and their sexual life ability decreases. Therefore, they begin to question whether it is necessary to continue to take contraceptive measures. Some people even stop taking contraceptive measures, which often results in unexpected pregnancy. In fact, contraception is necessary for menopausal women. If they do not take contraceptive measures, they may still get pregnant, and there is a higher risk of ectopic pregnancy.

Because from the perspective of women's physiological process, the reproductive function of menopausal women does not stop suddenly, but is a gradual decline. During this process, the ovarian function gradually declines, and the external manifestation is the change in menstruation, which may be manifested as irregular menstruation or infrequent menstruation, until complete menopause.

It can be seen that although menopausal women have irregular menstruation and less menstrual flow, their ovarian function has not completely disappeared and they still have irregular ovulation. As long as mature follicles are released, there is a possibility of pregnancy. At this time, the transport function of the fallopian tubes of women is significantly reduced, which increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, we remind the majority of menopausal couples to continue to take effective contraceptive measures until women are completely menopausal to avoid unnecessary harm to women.
