Precautions for exercise during menstruation

Precautions for exercise during menstruation

Moderate exercise during women's menstrual period can effectively improve and enhance the functional state of the human body and promote blood circulation, especially improve the blood circulation of the reproductive organs in the pelvic cavity and reduce congestion. In addition, during physical activities, women's abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles can also undergo certain contraction and relaxation activities, which is beneficial to the discharge of menstrual blood and can relieve adverse physiological reactions during menstruation.

However, women should also pay attention to some things when exercising during menstruation, especially avoid strenuous exercise, so as to avoid sudden cessation of menstruation, reverse menstrual flow, or irregular menstruation. In addition, the following points should be noted:

① During menstruation, women should reduce the amount of exercise appropriately according to their own situation.

For example, jogging, doing exercises, boxing, playing table tennis, walking, etc. are all suitable, but the exercise time can be shortened and the speed can be slowed down. If you are participating in strenuous sports, you should reduce the amount of exercise or do it after the menstrual period.

② Women should avoid participating in strenuous or vibrating exercise during menstruation.

If women's abdomen is suddenly compressed during exercise, it is easy to cause excessive menstrual bleeding or change the position of the uterus. Exercises that should be avoided include high jump, long jump, fast running, playing football, weightlifting, dumbbells, etc.

③It is not advisable to participate in swimming during menstruation.

Because the endometrium is bleeding during menstruation and the cervix is slightly open, swimming can easily lead to the invasion of bacteria, which can cause gynecological diseases such as inflammation of the reproductive organs. In addition, under the stimulation of cold water, the uterus and pelvic blood vessels will contract, which may cause consequences such as too little menstrual blood or even amenorrhea.

④Avoid highly competitive competitions during menstruation.

If women participate in highly competitive sports during their menstrual period, they are prone to endocrine dysfunction and menstrual disorders due to high mental stress.
