Irregular menstruation, how to calculate ovulation period

In order to prepare for pregnancy, many women will calculate the ovulation period, but irregular menstruation will become a problem for many women. How to calculate the ovulation period? How to calculate the ovulation period of irregular menstruation ?

Generally speaking, it is usually two weeks from the ovulation day to the next menstrual period, that is, the 14th day after ovulation is the menstrual period. So how should the ovulation period of irregular menstruation be calculated?

1. The ovulation period of irregular menstruation can be understood by measuring basal body temperature: Measuring basal body temperature is not only used to determine whether you are pregnant, but also to determine whether it is the ovulation period. Women have regular menstrual cycles, with menstruation every 28 days. In the first half of the menstrual cycle, the basal body temperature mostly fluctuates below 36.6 degrees Celsius. After ovulation, the basal body temperature rises by 0.3-0.5 degrees Celsius in the second half of the menstrual cycle, that is, it fluctuates between 36.6 and 37 degrees Celsius.

2. Observe cervical mucus: cervical mucus is the secretion of cervical glands. Women of childbearing age with normal ovarian function have periodic changes in ovarian sex hormones, cervical mucus and physical and chemical properties. Usually, the mucus near ovulation is clear, smooth and elastic, like egg white, with high stringiness and not easy to break. The last day of this mucus is ovulation day, 48 hours before and after. Therefore, when the vagina feels moist, it is the "easy pregnancy period".

3. The simplest way to calculate the ovulation period of irregular menstruation is through ovulation test paper: the test paper can be bought in relevant pharmacies. The method is to first determine the menstrual cycle, and start testing from the 11th day of the menstrual cycle, once a day. Collect urine between 10 am and 8 pm every day for observation. If the two bars are the same depth or the second bar is darker than the first bar, it means that you will ovulate within 24-48 hours.

I hope that the three methods of calculating the ovulation period for irregular menstruation will be helpful to everyone. If the above calculation methods do not help you, you can contact our online doctor or go to the hospital for further understanding. At the same time, we also wish you good health and pregnancy.
