Patients with functional uterine bleeding should pay attention to iron supplementation in their diet

Because functional uterine bleeding often causes iron deficiency anemia in patients. Iron is an essential trace element in the human body and an important part of hemoglobin. It can promote development and increase resistance to diseases; the heme it constitutes can prevent and treat anemia caused by iron deficiency. Therefore, patients with functional uterine bleeding should pay attention to supplementing iron from their diet when treating anemia.

Foods high in iron include:

①Black fungus, red dates, and red beans: Black fungus, red dates, and red beans are rich in iron. Regular consumption can not only prevent and treat iron deficiency anemia, but also has a strong nourishing effect.

②Animal offal: The iron content in animal offal is often higher than that in animal meat, such as pork liver, beef liver, lamb liver, chicken liver, etc. Not only are they high in iron, but they are also rich in vitamins.

③Animal blood: Animal blood is rich in heme iron, which is easily digested and absorbed by the human body. Regular consumption of animal blood and offal soup has a good effect in preventing and treating iron deficiency anemia.

④ Fruits: You should eat a certain amount of fruits every day. Fruits themselves do not contain a lot of iron, but they are rich in vitamin C, which can promote the absorption of iron in food. For moderate or above anemia, oral iron treatment is also very necessary.

However, patients should note that it is best not to drink tea for anemic patients, as drinking tea will only aggravate the symptoms of anemia. This is because the iron in food enters the digestive tract in the form of trivalent colloidal iron hydroxide. After the action of gastric juice, high-valent iron is converted into low-valent iron before it can be absorbed. However, tea contains tannic acid, which easily forms insoluble tannic acid iron after drinking, thus hindering the absorption of iron. Secondly, milk and some drugs that neutralize stomach acid will hinder the absorption of iron, so try not to consume them with iron-containing foods.
