What are the symptoms of cervical hypertrophy?

Cervical hypertrophy is a type of cervicitis, a common disease among women of childbearing age, and can be acute or chronic. It is important to understand the symptoms of cervical hypertrophy in detail, so that we can detect and diagnose it early, treat it early, and recover early. So what are the symptoms of cervical hypertrophy?

Generally speaking, the symptoms of cervical hypertrophy are mainly manifested in two aspects:

1. Increased leucorrhea: In acute cervicitis, the leucorrhea is purulent, accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region, or bladder irritation symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating. In chronic cervicitis, the leucorrhea is milky white and mucous, or light yellow and purulent.

2. Excessive menstrual flow and prolonged duration; sometimes the cycle is shortened, but there is no obvious change in the menstrual flow and duration; or the menstrual period is prolonged, but the menstrual flow is not much, which is also a significant symptom of cervical hypertrophy.

Simple cervical hypertrophy will not affect pregnancy, but severe cervicitis can cause endometritis, salpingo-oophoritis, fallopian tube adhesions and blockage, leading to infertility.

The main causes of cervical hypertrophy are:

Chronic inflammation and long-term stimulation cause congestion and edema of the cervix, hyperplasia of cervical glands and stroma, and lead to varying degrees of cervical hypertrophy.

Mucus retention may occur deep in the cervical glands, forming cysts of varying sizes, causing the cervix to become enlarged.

The surface of the enlarged cervix may also experience erosion due to injury or inflammatory stimulation, such as shedding of squamous epithelium and hyperplasia of columnar epithelium.

The above is to introduce the symptoms of cervical hypertrophy. The causes of cervical hypertrophy are relatively complicated, but most of them are due to chronic inflammation and long-term stimulation, which causes cervical congestion and edema, and hyperplasia of cervical glands and stroma, resulting in varying degrees of cervical hypertrophy. Therefore, patients should seek timely treatment!
