What causes premature ovarian failure?

Premature ovarian failure may be caused by genetic and other congenital factors, or female immune dysfunction, such as hypothyroidism or purpura. At the same time, adverse psychological factors and improper drug treatment can also cause premature ovarian failure, and some infectious factors, such as bilateral fallopian tube infection, can also be called the cause of the disease.

1. Genetic inheritance

Clinical studies have confirmed that premature ovarian failure has a certain family genetic tendency, which may be caused by abnormal X chromosomes. The inheritance probability of premature ovarian failure is also relatively high, which can be as high as about 30%.

2. Immune abnormalities

If a woman has an abnormal immune function, such as autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, hypothyroidism, and rheumatoid arthritis, it may have an adverse effect on ovarian function and induce premature ovarian failure. Diabetes and idiopathic purpura are common clinical causes. If there are anti-ovarian antibodies in the peripheral blood, they will bind to the corresponding cells in the follicles, damage the follicles, and induce premature ovarian failure.

3. Psychological factors

If women are in a state of excessive mental tension for a long time, or their mood swings are too large, and they often fall into depression, anxiety or panic, it will lead to abnormal function of the central nervous system, which will affect ovarian function over time and cause premature ovarian failure. It will also cause menstrual disorders.

4. Improper use of medication

Improper medication is also the main cause of the disease. In life, some women blindly take ovulation-inducing drugs and often take emergency contraceptives and other hormonal drugs, which are very likely to stimulate normal ovarian cells, affect function, and cause premature ovarian failure.

5. Infectious factors

If a woman suffers from pelvic inflammation, ovarian cysts and ovarian abscesses, as well as bilateral fallopian tube infection, the normal ovarian tissue will be infected and diseased, seriously affecting its function, and the woman may suffer from premature ovarian failure. In severe cases, it will lose its ovulation function and lead to infertility.
