Do you tend to chew every bite of food carefully when you eat, or do you like to watch TV while eating? In addition to exercising, daily eating habits in daily life cannot be ignored. The Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recently published a new study from Ohio State University in the United States. The research team found that people who do not watch TV while eating at home have a significantly lower chance of becoming obese. In the study, the authors analyzed data from the 2012 Ohio Population Telephone Survey and analyzed data from adult subjects who had eaten home-cooked meals at least once in the past week (n=12,842). The body mass index (BMI) was calculated based on the height and weight reported by the subjects, and a BMI ≥30 was defined as obesity. The analysis results show that the frequency of eating home-cooked meals may not be the most critical factor affecting obesity. The author said that according to the experimental results, there is a significant correlation between the increased risk of obesity and watching TV while eating.
