In order to maintain their good figures, many female celebrities privately implement extreme weight loss methods, including improper dieting, eating roundworm eggs, or drinking water to induce vomiting. Even the Brazilian mixed-race supermodel Akemi (Akemi Kazuki), who has always been known for her slender figure, is no exception. She is "obsessed" about her weight and adopts the wrong local body shaping methods.

The hot summer is the season for wearing tank tops, short skirts and bikinis. Akemi said that when she was shooting a bikini photo album a few days ago, in order to achieve perfection, she listened to the recommendation of a friend and wore super small waist and leg slimming pants, intending to suppress the slightly protruding curves and fat around her thighs and waist. However, after wearing them for more than 12 hours a day for more than a month, not only did she fail to achieve the effect of localized weight loss, but she even felt too much pressure and easily breathless when walking. Even her skin had an allergic reaction with a rash suspected to be due to excessive heat.

Chen Meiling, an ophthalmologist who has branched out into medical aesthetics, said that when using "compression" products such as waist- and leg-slimming pants for localized slimming or to inhibit fat production, the fat is not destroyed and the sculpting effect is only temporary, and sometimes it is just a superficial appearance of looking thinner. Wearing body-shaping clothes for a long time can easily hinder metabolism and blood circulation; sometimes the pressure on the abdomen and chest is too great, which can easily hinder gastrointestinal digestion function; wearing tight body-shaping clothes for a long time can easily cause skin allergies or private infections due to stuffiness and lack of breathability.

Modern women pay attention to their weight. In addition to worrying about the problem of being too fat overall, more and more people choose to achieve local body sculpting through medical beauty. Currently, the methods commonly used in clinical practice to eliminate subcutaneous fat and perform local body sculpting generally include the use of laser dissolution or ultrasonic fragmentation.

Dr. Chen Meiling said that after supermodel Akemi used the wrong local slimming method of body-shaping pants, she later switched to the new ultrasonic lipolysis and gradually achieved the effect of modifying her curves. This lipolysis method is computer-targeted and uses focused energy to more accurately break up fat cells. It is then combined with vacuum radiofrequency skin tightening to accelerate the metabolism of damaged fat cells and improve the unevenness of the epidermis after surgery. Because it is a non-invasive method, there is almost no trouble during the recovery period.

Dr. Chen Meiling pointed out that shock wave lipolysis is suitable for people with localized obesity in the abdomen, sides of the waist, thighs, and buttocks, and for people with standard to moderate obesity. However, the fat in the affected area must be more than 1.5 centimeters. In addition, it is not suitable for people with skin allergies, metabolic diseases such as hyperlipidemia or diabetes, or those who are preparing to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
